Section 1705.1.1. NOT PROVIDED The structural calculations, plans, and details shall be sealed and signed by the P.E. ballast projects - Provide a letter from the engineer of record stating that: “After inspecting the Site the Coefficient of Friction used in the lateral displacement calculations was found to be adequate for the Site roofing materials and conditions”.

The City of Palm Springs requires a Basic Wind Speed (3-second gust) of 123 mph and Exposure C for wind calculations From [City of Palm Springs Code Requirements for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Single-Family Dwellings]: Maximum distributed weight of the solar PV system in pounds per square feet Maximum perpendicular distance between the solar PV system and the roof below Maximum concentrated load imposed by the PV panel support onto the building's roof Anchoring requirements such as type of fasteners, minimum fastener size, minimum embedment, and minimum number of attachment points All projects must have the [PV Worksheet] completed.

* Specify on the plans exactly how the wiring at the array is going to be protected so the wiring is not readily accessible. The plans must be very specific on the method of protection and how the equipment or materials for such protection will be installed (please also be aware that zip ties are NOT allowed for securing the material to the backs of the modules). * In addition to the above noted comment, the plans must clearly specify that any wiring leaving the immediate underside of the solar panels must be installed in and protected in conduit.
