ESS Notes
  • ESS is not allowed in the garage or interior spaces. No exceptions.
  • Demonstrate compliance that ESS is minimum 3' from other ESS and from doors/windows.
  • Tesla Powerwall 2 will require a Rapid Shutdown Device. RSD (This should be indicated on SLD

If ESS is not in line of sight of MSP then ESS disconnect required within line of sight of ESS on same wall and not blocked by walls/gates/etc

1/31/24 ISOLATED LOADS PANEL WIRE SHOULD BE SIZED ACCORDING TO TESLA GATEWAY BREAKER SIZE. EXAMPLE: IF TESLA GATEWAY IS FED BY A 125A BREAKER, THEN THE WIRING FOR THE ISO PANEL SHOULD BE 1/0 EVEN IF WE HAVE A 100A BREAKER ACCORDING TO THIS AHJ

2/21/24 BACKUP LOADS PANEL WIRE SHOULD BE SIZED ACCORDING TO TESLA GATEWAY BREAKER SIZE. EXAMPLE: IF TESLA GATEWAY IS FED BY A 125A BREAKER, THEN THE WIRING FOR THE ISO PANEL SHOULD BE 1/0 EVEN IF WE HAVE A 100A BREAKER ACCORDING TO THIS AHJ

  • Call out 1st & 2nd story roofs
  • Include spec sheets for all new equipment being installed including load centers and main/sub panels
  • Provide certificate of compliance to confirm (ESS, Panels, Inverters, Racks, Etc.) is Listed for use by a NRTL (Nationally recognized testing laboratory
  • Provide the Module Compatibility List to verify that the rack system has been evaluated and tested for grounding and bonding (UL2703) with the specified new solar module.

EXISTING SYSTEMS

  • The site placard must show both the existing and new modules
  • Show the type of Rapid Shutdown on the existing system (array boundary vs. module level shutdown) per CEC 690.12(B) and/or CFC 1205.4.2 and provide appropriate labeling and identification on Building Directory

EV CHARGER

  • complete and submit the attached EV charger handout.
  • Provide a floor plan that shows the location of the EV charger and remove all PV system details. The plan needs to be EV charger specific.
  • Also, provide the product specs for the EV charger.
Cover Page Notes

Provide a Building Code Data Legend on the Title Sheet. Include the following code information for each proposed building: a. Occupancy Classifications (e.g. R-3/U for Single Family Dwelling) b. Type of Construction (e.g. Type V-B for wood framed construction) c. Fire Sprinklers (Yes or No) d. Number of Stories

Site Notes

Roof Mount [Emergency escape and rescue opening. Panels and modules installed on dwellings shall not be placed on the portion of a roof that is below an emergency escape and rescue opening. A 36-inch-wide pathway shall be provided to the emergency escape and rescue opening. CRC R324.6.2.2]

Electrical Diagram
  • Any existing conductors shown on the ELD must have their size called out.
  • If Main breaker is to be used as the Rapid Shutdown Initiator, please indicate so on the ELD
  • For SEEB Projects: Utilize 100A AC Disconnect for 63A CHINT breaker.
Electrical Diagram Notes

Add the following notes: i. New circuit breakers shall match the manufacturer, type and kAIC rating of the (E) panel. ii. All outdoor equipment shall be raintight and hold a minimum NEMA-3R rating. [CEC 110.28, 404.4(A), 408.16] iii. If the existing main service panel does not have verifiable grounding electrode, it is the PV contractor's responsibility to install a supplemental grounding electrode.
