ESS JOBS WILL NOW REQUIRE FIRE APPROVAL. REQUIREMENTS UPLOADED AS PDFs. A CHECKLIST IS ALSO REQUIRED The two fire pathways must be on two separate planes The attachment detail must show roof type, slope, and number of layers if comp For MULTI INVERTER SYSTEMS, specify which string each module is mapped to on plot plan. Refer to the multi inverter example below For MPUs, refer to the LA County MPU documents below For GMAs (A)The final connections between the fused disconnect and the main service panel needs to be further clarified on the plans. The connection to the GMA is via liquid tight flexible conduit with 3#6 wires (Phase, Phase, Neutral). There is no ground wire in this conduit run. These 3 conductors terminate at the GMA sitting in the meter socket. In order to return the ground path to the Main Service Panel's grounding bar, there needs to be a second wiring method specified on the plans. Show the conduit type/size and the ground wire size between the Fused Disconnect and the Main Service Panel. (B)Per the installation requirements of the GMA, specify on the plans 2-3 ft max between the MSP and Fused AC Disconnect. Bus Certs are NOT accepted in this AHJ

FOR ALL PROJECTS Add Note: THE PV BREAKER SHALL BE LOCATED AT THE OPPOSITE END OF THE MAIN BREAKER OR INPUT FEEDER Add note "ALL TERMINALS TO BE RATED AT 75°C MINIMUM" Do not use 90°C ampacities/derate factors. Add Note: All electrical work shall be designed per Los Angeles County electrical code, California Electrical Code, and National Electrical Code. Add Note: 110.2 Approval: All electrical equipment shall be labeled, listed, or certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory accredited by the United States Occupational Safety Health Administration. If using a lug kit, provide the model number on the TLD and include a spec sheet for it in the plan set. The kit spec sheet must show UL or other NRTL certification. FOR MPU PROJECTS Add Note: GEC SIZE FROM MAIN SERVICE PANEL TO GROUND ROD TO BE #4 AWG. SIZE OF GEC FROM PANEL TO METAL WATER PIPE TO BE #4 AWG Add note: THE CONNECTION TO THE INTERIOR METAL WATER PIPING SHALL BE MADE WITHIN 5 FT FROM THE POINT OF ENTRANCE. PER SECTION 250.68(C)(1) Add note: COLD WATER WITHIN 5 FEET AND AT LEAST ONE SUPPLEMENTAL ELECTRODE ARE REQUIRED (2 ground rods at least 6' apart is 1 supplemental electrode) If ground rods, comply with the following: 250.53(A)(2) & (3) Resistance of Electrodes: For the ground rod specified on the single line diagram, indicate that there shall be two ground rods separated by six or more feet Add Note: GEC SIZE IS #4 AWG 1 GROUND ROD TO BE INSTALLED WITHING 5' OF COLD WATER MAIN ENTERING THE HOME, CONNECTED VIA UL LISTED BONDING CLAMP Identify if the main panel is fed via an overhead drop or underground feed. If overhead, provide the size of the service entrance conductors AND ground size (GEC) Identify GEC size to Table 250.66 Add Note: If proposed new main panel is located more than 6 feet from the existing main panel, combination-type AFCI breakers shall be used as a method of protection for all 15A/1P and 20A/1P (120V) loads per 210.12(D). If solar ready MPU: Show model number for solar ready service panels FOR HOT BUS PROJECTS If MSP is a hot bus and has 6 or less breakers, provide a panel schedule identifying all the breakers FOR GMA PROJECTS The wire from the inverter to the AC disconnect must also be sized to #6 Per SCE requirements, specify the distance from the GMA to the fused disconnect as 2-3' maximum Indicate that equipment grounding electrode conductor (EGC) shall be in separate conduit. The EGC is not installed in the liquid-tight flexible conduit from the AC disconnect to the GMA GMA requires GEC to be ran in its own conduit to MSP FOR BATTERY PROJECTS: Add Note: BACK UP LOAD CENTER WILL COMPLY WITH 210.12(A) USING AFCI BREAKERS Add Note: BOND GROUNDING SYSTEM IN BOTH BUILDINGS .NEUTRAL BUS AT SEPARATE BUILDING SHALL BE ISOLATED Add Note: THE SUB PANEL OR AC DISCONNECT SWITCH AT THE SEPARATE STRUCTURE SHALL BE SERVICE RATED 225.36 SUITABLE FOR SERVICE EQUIPMENT Add Note: THE DISCONNECT MEANS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 225.31 SHALL BE SUITABLE FOR USE AS SERVICE EQUIPMENT PER SECTION 225.36
