Drawings for Permit Plan Review - Naming Convention
To help make drawing submittals fast and easy we ask that the permit applicant follow these three requests for submitting drawings for review in EPL. (see submitting supporting documents for naming of other nonâdrawing documents)
1.Provide one digitally signed PDF per consultant.
*Make sure files are not locked
*One PDF with multiple digital signatures can be submitted, but when reâsubmitting you would need to supply anew drawing that is digitally signed, or sheets digitally signed by the respective trades.
For example, if the Architect prepared all the drawings, it would be submitted as one pdf file digitally signed by the Architect.
If an Engineer prepared Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing then they would submit all three trades in one pdf file including the preparers digital signature.
Remove CSA group page from planset. There is a plans reviewer that will kickback the plans if it includes this page. 7/3/25

- Roof Plan Notes
Provide all edge dimensions for installation of roof panels as required by ASCE 7-22 Sec. 29.4.4. According to ASCE 7-22 Sec. 29.4.4, the solar panels shall be located at least 2h2 from the roof edge, a gable ridge, or a hip ridge.
- h2 = 29.4.4 Rooftop Solar Panels Parallel to the Roof Surface on Buildings of All Heights and Roof Slopes. The design wind pressures for rooftop solar panels located on enclosed or partially enclosed buildings of all heights, with panels parallel to the roof surface, with a tolerance of 2° and with a maximum height above the roof surface, h2, not exceeding 10 in. (0.25 m) shall be determined in accordance with this section. A minimum gap of 0.25 in. (6.4 mm) shall be provided between all panels, with the spacing of gaps between panels not exceeding 6.7 ft (2.04 m). In addition, the array shall be located at least 2h2 from the roof edge, a gable ridge, or a hip ridge. The design wind pressure for rooftop solar collectors shall be determined by Eq. (29.4-7)
Roof Plan to show the roof zones. See Figure R301.2(7) FBC-Residential AND ASCE 7-22 and revise as required. NOTE: When revising the roof zones, keep in mind that Distance "a" is 4â min. See footnote âaâ on Figure R301.2(7) FBC-Residential. Revise Roof Information on ALL drawings to avoid conflicts/delays.
