Stamp Tech Instructions:

PE stamp only required for battery projects. 

Any changes to plans will require new stamps. 

Projects with battery (ESS) or EV charger will need to be separated before sending for stamps. Please prepare the following 3 PDFs with the following;

1. A complete combined plans just for PE reference to be left unstamped.

Resubmissions: AHJ requires resubmissions to include ONLY the pages that have been revised. Confirm the set of plans to be sent to the PE contains only the revised pages. 

PE Instructions:

When PE stamps are required, deliver two stamped plans, one with the SE Stamps and one with the EE Stamps. All stamped paged need to have verifiable valid PDF signature near stamps. Files must not be certified or locked. Stamped documents must show metadata next to them. See "Stamp Metadata" in the files below for an example.

• Any revisions to plans will require restamps & the revision letter should not be attached to the plans, but uploaded separately
• Structural Stamps are needed if there is a detached structure we are installing on. @ that time we would separate plans as follows:

Roof Plan

• 36" clearance pathways required around chimneys, rooftop AC units, and ducts for servicing. The roof is inspected. 
• Roof attachments must match plans.

Electrical Diagram

• Breakers must meet specs of - or match - load center.
• Only Solar ready panels with tap kit require fused disco
• ONLY SHOW ONE GROUNDING ON SLD
• For SE6000H inverters, AHJ requires 35A breakers, 40A is now considered oversized and will be kicked back.
• 07/25/19 Line side taps are allowed on UL listed Solar ready MSP only, (with Square D Solar Ready MSP, we have to use "Current Limiters at the point of the line side tap in conjunction with the Square D tap kit (see attached spec sheets "Square D Solar Ready Tap Kit-CP Current limiting protectors")-MMALL LOCAL AMENDMENTS

MPU:

• Notate existing service size and upgraded service size.
• EX: (E) 125/100 upgrading to (N) 225/200
• Solar ready MPU's with tap kit require a fusible disconnect with fuses rated for the system output over-current protection.

Subpanels:

• Callout conductor size and type between main panel and sub panel. We CANNOT just label it as "existing wire run through conduit". Identify the burial depth of underground conduits.

Existing Systems:

• Only one PV breaker may be placed in the MSP. They want both systems to be combined with a combiner panel, then to an AC disconnect, and then to one PV breaker.

LOAD CALC REQUIREMENTS:

• LOAD CALCS NEED TO ADD 25% TO THE LARGEST AC LOAD AS WELL AS THE AC. WE HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE KICKBACKS FROM LV INSPECTORS ON THIS
• WE CAN ALSO USE THE "OPTIONAL CALCULATION" (RECOMMENDED) AND THE 25% OF ADDITIONAL AC LOAD WILL NOT NEED TO BE CONSIDERED.
• IF THE HOUSE IS ALL-ELECTRIC. THE LOAD CALC NEEDS TO INCLUDE ALL APPLIANCES.
• Load calculations should specifically state they are using NEC/CLV codes
• EV Chargers need to be shown on load calcs, if applicable.

Placards are required to be installed per ART 690 and ART 705, of material that will hold up to the extreme conditions of the Las Vegas Valley.

Non Standard Revision Requirements

Only revised pages should be included before stamping. Upload a complete set of plans for the IX team and a separate set only containing the revised pages to be stamped for the permitting team to resubmit with. Label the sets differently when uploading to Portal to prevent confusion (ex. IX plan set, permit resubmission plan set) Each revision needs to be red clouded Each revised page needs to be listed in the revision letter including each change on a different line. The resubmission letter should be uploaded separately from the plans rather than combined in the same PDF.
