* In residential and rural preservation districts, the location of solar panels shall be limited to the side and rear of the structure and rear lot only, within applicable setback requirements, and shall not exceed 8’ in height. * Ground-mounted systems shall be located so as not to impede the ability of emergency personnel to access the site for firefighting purposes * Maximum Area Coverage. For residential properties, a ground-mounted solar energy system shall not exceed 50% of the footprint of the principal building served or 1,000 square feet per ½ acre, whichever is greater. * Solar panels shall be placed such that concentrated solar radiation or glare shall not be directed onto other properties or public access areas. * Mounting hardware and framing shall be non-reflective or matte black in color. * A ground-mounted system shall not be located over a septic system, leach field area or identified reserve area unless approved by the Health Department. * If located in a floodplain or an area of known localized flooding, all panels, electrical wiring, automatic transfer switches, inverters, etc. shall be located above the base flood elevation
