The current Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code Section 1204 provides the requirements on the required setbacks as well as aisles from base of the roof to the peak. These distances are to be clearly shown on the submitted plans. Please keep in mind that any roof penetrations (ducts, vents, flues, chimneys) cannot encroach into these defined areas.
