- Site Plan Reqs
Showing the arrangement of the major equipment, including the electric service entrance section and utility meter, location of generator and interface equipment, and location of the DG Service Disconnect. Including building structure location and any walls, fences and gates to clearly indicate unobstructed access to AIC equipment and DG Service Disconnect. Also, please show any obstructions that made shade any Photovoltaic System (such as trees and roof overhands). Include the street address, and location of the any lock-boxes, etc.

One-Line Diagram
• Generators and all major associated electrical components, including protective relaying.
• Any interlocks and control functions, as well as the electric service entrance, utility meter, connection points of all facility loads.
• Any transformers, generator metering and DG Service Disconnect.
• Electric Ratings of any and all equipment.
Three-Line Diagram
• Generation Source (including photovoltaic panels and wind generators) and any associated electrical components, inverter(s), combiner panels, metering, DG Service Disconnect.
• Electric Service Entrance, Utility meter, connection point(s) of facility load(s), and any other major electric components and associated wiring.
• Diagram(s) must show detailed phase wiring of all electric equipment as specified, as well as all neutral and ground conductors and connections.
• All neutral, equipment ground and grounding electrode equipment (G.E.C.) conductors and connections.
AC Disconnect shall be installed within 10 feet of the Customer SES, unless AIC has been contacted and approved a Customer variance request to install it elsewhere.
- Electric Service Reqs
- METERING REQUIREMENTS If AIC is required to install electric meter(s) to record the output of Customer’s Generator(s), Customer shall ensure that the design is such that the meter(s) is/are located on the Utility side of any Generator breaker on a normally energized bus. Electronic meters are not designed to be de-energized for any length of time.
- TRANSFORMER UPGRADE If a Customer with a proposed Generating Facility is served from a AIC distribution transformer that also serves other customers, and if the Maximum Capacity of the proposed Generating Facility in aggregate with any existing customer Generating Facilities on the shared transformer exceeds 75% of the transformer nameplate rating, the Customer may be required to upgrade the transformer (at the Customer’s sole cost) or to be served from a dedicated transformer.
- Install Reqs
The switch handle shall be capable of being locked in the “open” position by a standard AIC padlock with a 3/8” shank. The switch front cover shall be kept locked at all times by a AIC-furnished padlock. The front cover hasp shall be capable of accepting a 3/8” shank padlock, and shall not be field modified in any way.
Customer shall install, at Customer's expense, a DG meter socket, and any necessary metering cabinets to house AIC metering equipment required for measuring and recording the AC energy production of the Generating Facilities. If such metering is not required, AIC will inform the Customer in writing.
Customer-furnished DG metering sockets and cabinets shall be selected and installed in accordance with the AIC Electric Service Requirements.
- Placards
AIC requires specific warning labels to be affixed to the Customer SES, DG Disconnect Switch, and DG meter. Required warning labels are available for purchase from Border States Electric, a AIC-preferred supplier. Customer may also furnish their own warning labels if they identically match those approved by AIC. All AIC-required warning labels shall be permanently affixed to the fronts of their respective equipment enclosures using rivets or screws. Use of glue or other adhesives is not permitted. Black on orange background. Please refer to Interconnection Manual.
