Option 1 Annual True Up: Every year on April 30 we will purchase any excess generation you have at our average wholesale energy price for the previous 12 months. That price is currently $0.04204/kWh but may change depending on what wholesale power prices do. This is the default option.
Option 2 Indefinite Roll Over: Any excess generation you have will roll forward to the next month until the account is closed. At that time the Member will forfeit any excess generation to Empire Electric and will receive no credit or compensation. If they would like to choose Indefinite Roll Over please let me know. There is a form they must fill out to choose this option

Net metered members are limited to 120 % of their last 12 months usage. Some other issues we run in to are we do have one constrained circuit between the city of Cortez and Mesa Verde national Park (east of Cortez). Systems installed there may need to have a higher-level review done especially if it is a system larger than 10 kW and that review is at the Member’s expense. You should also have the on-site contractor look and see how big the transformer is or contact me with the address so I can check it. The transformer must be sized to accommodate the generation system. We also have limitations on how much generation can be on a secondary connection, so if a customer shares a transformer, they are sometimes required to upgrade the transformer to install the size system they want. There are also restrictions on how much DG can be on a shared secondary. I also attached the Interconnection Standards which your design team can use to find details about our interconnection requirements.
If you need the member’s historical usage to see if you will fit in the 120% limitation, we will need a signed release from the member allowing us to share that data with you. That form is also attached and only needs to be returned if you want the historical usage.
