If the electricity supplied by Company is less than the electricity supplied by the Customer-Generator to Company, Company’s bill will include a credit for the net electricity received by Company in accordance with the Net Metering Rate (Avoided Fuel Cost) below:

Summer Rate (Applicable during 4 monthly billing periods of June through September) Summer 3.84¢ per kWh

Winter Rate (Applicable during 8 monthly billing periods of October through May) Winter 3.39¢ per kWh

The above rates are updated during each odd-numbered year with the update typically effective February 15.

LST POI must comply with the following requirements:

  • Conductors running from the POI to the DER main disconnect and overprotection device shall be no smaller than #6 copper or $3 AWG aluminum.
  •  The conduit running from the POI to the DER Main Disconnecting Means shall contain only DER service entrance conductors. Monitoring cables and other customer circuitry are not permitted
  •  If the customer chooses to install a production meter, it must be located after the DER Main Disconnecting Means (e.g., on the generator side).
  • Include a note; "Fused AC disconnect within 4ft of the tap"
  •  POI can be made in a junction box, trough, or tap box after the metering equipment but before the main service disconnect. DER POI must be made using listed connectors and comply with NEC enclosure fill requirements. All power distribution blocks installed on service conductors shall be marked as "Suitable for Use On line Side of the Service Disconnect." Effective January 1, 2023, pressure connectors and devices for splices and taps installed on service conductors shall be marked as "Suitable for Use On line Side of the Service Disconnect." 2020 NEC 230.46.
  •  When making a line side tap where the DER Main Disconnecting Means will be mounted on a separate structure from the service installation and these structures are not mechanically secured together to function as a single structure, then the supply conductors from the POI at the service installation to the DER Main Disconnecting Means must be run underground in a conduit system

LST requirements can be found in the electric service manual PG 251

Site Plan Reqs

The utility requires the following photos: METER / MSP and SOLAR EQUIPMENT (close-up and wide angle); INSTALLED PANELS (ALL OF THEM)

If AC disconnect is not within 10 feet of meter, a red placard with raised white letters is required noting the location of the disconnect in relation to meter.

SLD Reqs

One Line Diagram

  • Verification String Size
  • Number of strings per inverter
  • Inverter Information-Model
  • How solar is tied out to our system. Is it a panel breaker or a tap connection?
  • AC disconnect-Is it fused or not. If using a tap connection then it must be fused.
  • One Line Diagram (examples: Service Tap Connection - one-line, Distribution Panel Connection - one-line  )
  • Only one AC disconnect is allowed per solar installation. A phase 2 project CANNOT have a separate AC disconnect switch.

Required notes:

  1. A 4 foot tap note for a tap connection
  2. Location of the AC disconnect wording on the placard (if the AC disconnect is more than 10 feet from the meter)
  • The breaker size in the panel cannot exceed 20% of the panel rating
  • If using a supply side tap in the main panel, the installation must meet NEC requirements.
  • If there are batteries or a generator, please include this on the one line diagram.
  • If the service is 3-phase, three phase inverters should be used to maintain balanced generation.
  • A tap cannot be made in a 200A meter enclosure.
  • The number of panels per string and the number of strings must be listed.
  • If installing a distribution panel connection, you must identify the breaker size and the main panel breaker size.

Required Documents:

  • Inverter Spec Sheet (example) The inverter must meet IEEE 1547 and UL 1741. This must be on the inverter cut sheet.
  • Solar Panel Spec Sheet (example) Must include the spec sheet for the panel
  • Solar Panel watts information-The watts of the panels gives us the Voc of the panels along with the cut sheet. The number of panels per string times this value gives us the Voc per strting. This has to be less than the inverter Vdc.
  • Section E and F of the Interconnection Application (example)
  • Section E: Must be signed by a Licensed Engineer or Licensed Electrician in Missouri
  • Section F: Must be signed and dated by the customer
  • The installation must be inspected by the Authority Having Jurisdiction(AHJ) if the municipality requires it.
Electric Service Reqs

Energy Storage Systems

  •  For an ESS integrated with DER installations, all premises must have a lockable ESS disconnecting means on the AC side of the DER system for an AC coupled ESS or on the DC side of the DER system for a DC coupled ESS, or its remote control, located at 1) a readily accessible location outside the building and 2) within 10 feet of the Lockable AC Generation Source Disconnect(s) and maintaining visibility

AC Disconnect must be within 10FT of the utility meter

Placards
  •  The lockable AC disconnect shall be labeled by the customer with permanent placarding stating, "LOCKABLE AC GENERATION SOURCE DISCONNECT”
  •  If the lockable AC disconnect is greater than 10 ft from the revenue meter or not within sight of the revenue meter, additional permanent placarding stating “CAUTION: MULTIPLE SOURCES OF POWER - LOCKABLE AC GENERATION SOURCE DISCONNECT AVAILABLE FOR ISOLATION FROM UTILITY” Utility would also like locational placarding installed in the event that the disconnect is greater than 10 ft from the revenue meter.
  • A) Permanent placards must be engraved on hard plastic and adhered to the meter socket lid and lockable AC generation source disconnect with permanent adhesive or adhered to the building exterior surface immediately adjacent.
  • B) Use of a label marker or glued-on strips is not acceptable

Energy Storage Systems:

  • The ESS disconnecting means shall be permanently placarded “ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM DISCONNECT.” or “ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM DISCONNECT - REMOTE CONTROL” (if remotely actuated).
  • The ESS disconnecting means must also have a permanent placard outlining the operating characteristics listed in the 2020 NEC 706.15(C)

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Ameren Missouri before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
