SLD Reqs

Solar electric modules

Inverter

Batteries (if applicable)

Lockable Disconnect Switch

Utility required production meter

Point of connection with the utility system

All electrical equipment specifications and calculations must be shown on the one‐line. Any signs/labels should be shown with their respective calculated values on the one‐line. The installation address, current account number at that address, and the installer’s name and telephone number must also be included.

All datasheets for the proposed equipment (solar panels, inverters, cable, etc…) must be included in the application as well as a structural load design and letter from a structural engineer licensed in the State of Utah.

If the proposed system includes a battery backup or generator backup, a detailed wiring diagram and shop drawings of all equipment shall be submitted with the application.

For a 6000 Inverter please use a 40A 2P Breaker. There is a shortage of 35A Breakers - 11.23.20

Placards

Labels shall be engraved plastic where exposed to sunlight. Handwritten marker pen labeling is _not_ allowed. The Label Sheet must include the location of the labels. Labels shall be read background with white lettering. Lettering must be at least 1/4" in height. The following labels must be provided:

Single Source Systems Only

WARNING: SINGLE 120 VOLT SUPPLY, DO NOT CONNECT MULTI-WIRE BRANCH CIRCUITS

AC & DC Disconnects

DC: " PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM DC DISCONNECT"

AC: "PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM AC DISCONNECT"

WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD. TERMINALS ON BOTH THE LINE AND LOAD SIDES MAY BE ENERGIZED IN THE OPEN POSITION

DC DISCONNECTS - This section must be completed if a main inverter system is being installed.

Maximum System Voltage

Maximum circuit current

Maximum rated output current of the charge controller (if used)

At the interactive points of interconnection, usually the main service

Rated AC output current

Normal operating AC voltage

Inverter

Inverter - Must be a reflective sticker

RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH FOR SOLAR PV SYSTEM

At the electrical service and at the photovoltaic inverter (if not located in the same location)

A directory providing the location of the service disconnect means and the photovoltaic system disconnecting means. _

Back-fed panel boards, inverter output OCPD

"WARNING: INVERTER OUTPUT CONNECTION. DO NOT RELOCATE THIS OVERCURRENT DEVICE" _This can be a sticker if inside breaker panel and not exposed to sunlight.

Main Service Panel

For PV Systems that shutdown the Array and conductors leaving the array. - Placard must be yellow **(Example is shown on PG 5 of the Net Metering Application below.)

"SOLAR PV SYSTEM EQUIPPED WITH RAPID SHUTDOWN"

"TURN RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH TO THE "OFF" POSITION TO SHUTDOWN PV SYSTEM AND REDUCE SHOCK HAZARD IN ARRAY"

"WARNING: MULTIPLE SOURCES OF POWER. A PV SYSTEM IS PRESENT. DISCONNECT ALL POWER SOURCES BEFORE SERVICING."

Conduit, Raceway's, Enclosures

On Conduit, raceways, enclosures: Mark every 10', at turns, above or below penetrations:

"CAUTION: SOLAR CIRCUIT"

Site Plan Notes

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with City of St. George before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
