If the electricity generated by the Customer exceeds electricity consumed by the Customer and is distributed back to the Utility during the billing period, then the Customer shall be credited for the net excess kilowatt-hours generated during the billing period, with this kilowatt-hour credit appearing on the Customer’s bill for the following billing period; (ii) and agrees that in each new net metering fiscal year beginning April 1 of each year, any and all kilowatt-hour credits remaining in the Customer’s account at the time of the Customer’s first scheduled meter reading of the new fiscal year shall be set to zero

"SCL doesnt have a policy prohibiting a solar system from exceeding 100% of annual historical usage. However, excess generation will be retained as a kWh balance on their bill that rolls over until Mar 31, when we are required by law to clear the balance with no monetary compensation to the customer."

- Any modification to underground-fed services that have existing direct-buried cable will require the installation of a NEW conduit run (SCL 1561.05)
- Utility will provide a drawing specifying the route of the conduit
- All work associated with trenching, backfeed, and restoration must be completed by, and at the expense of the customer
The following minimum meter clearances must be maintained:
- Meter Height: The meter height for a single-meter socket must be between 4 feet (minimum) and 6 feet (maximum) (Reference: SCL RESC | Section 6.6.1 | Meter Height Clearances).
- Between either side of the electric meter and any wall, vegetation, bump out, additional meter: 18 inches.
- Above the center of the electric meter: 36 inches
- Between the closest edge of a gas meter vent and the closest edge of any electric utility enclosure, e.g., meter socket, CT cabinet, tap can, etc.: 36 inches
- Metering equipment must not be installed over stairs, stairwells, steps, or public walkways.
- Meter locations must not be under or over any structure which might be enclosed or removed in the future, such as a porch, deck, carport, or stairway.
- A bollard or fall protection will need to be installed if a meter is located within 3 feet of an active driveway, alley, or parking area.
