All excess energy will be purchased by SREC at avoided cost. The regular electric meter will be replaced with a bi-directional meter that measures energy sales to the member and also any excess energy flowing backwards through the meter that is put back on the grid. Each month the member will be credited on their monthly billing for the excess energy. Once a year in the month of June any credit over $100.00 will be paid back by check to the member.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative (WI) before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
